With what started off as conversations years ago and continuous hard work the last few, it’s time to sell some of our wonderful bare root berry plants produced here at Treasure Lake (Petersburg, KY). For years we built out the orchard garden and field nursery within it. We procured plants from other nurseries and grew them through consistent mulching, weeding, watering, and adding our homegrown compost. Then we were able to propagate them and grow them at an incredible rate without chemicals in our splendid sandy soils. Feed them and they will help feed you.
So now we can bring you plants grown from our nursery to your gardens with no hidden poisons. I take immense pride in this as it’s not easy. Herbicide and fertilizer is easier than painstakingly raising animals and cycling their waste and sifting through logs to get to woodchips from our arborist drops. But the healthy product for you is the goal and now the reality.

What is Bareroot?
Plants are able to be shipped or moved around more easily in the dormant season. Thus, they are dug when the leaves drop in late November and placed in containers keeping the roots cool, dark, and moist. Then plants are packaged for pickup or shipping. Bareroot plants allow you to buy and plant in bulk more easily and can have a really natural form to the root system. While plants in pots have their advantages, bare root plants also do too. So, scale up with our selection and let’s plant some food forests!
